We've got lots more work to do in the neighborhood!
We've got lots more work to do in the neighborhood!
Like you, I want a clean, green, safe, and vibrant neighborhood; a place for persons of all ages, races, cultures, genders, incomes, and beliefs. You need someone who can help you navigate government, which often feels like a maze. Together we'll continue to address issues like parking, crime, & economic development.
We get dirty to make sure that our community is clean. There's only but so much that your tax dollars will get you. We make it work with a little sweat equity, bringing businesses and neighbors together to improve our quality of life.
I am a public servant. I left the private practice of law 23 years ago to serve my city. By day, I am counsel to the District's Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Administration. Mostly though, I am a mother, sister, and friend who strives to make her community a better place for all. ANCs don't get paid to do this- it's a labor of love. But it's so gratifying when you know that you have done something to help to improve the neighborhood or someone's life,
....one small act at a time.
Home to more than 2,000 residents (based on the last census), ANC Single Member District 6A01 is home to diverse neighbors and friends and lots of new businesses. We have a significant aging population and a growing younger population. It's a healthy place for both young and old to thrive. Fur Babies too!!
Our goal is to attract and support responsible businesses in ANC 6A01 but we must continue to balance nightlife and home life.

My shirt says it all- I Heart the 202! It would be my honor to continue to serve my community as we tackle issues that affect each of us in the neighborhood.
ANC6A01 is in me!! I have lived in ANC6A01 since 1987 and in Ward 6 since 1985. There have been some major changes in the landscape in recent years. We must keep our commitment to DIVERSITY. We must ensure that there are adequate, affordable housing, and dependable city services in order to retain our existing neighbors and attract new residents from all walks of life.
H Street/Atlas is a destination but ANC6A01 is all about where we live. We need to continue to encourage responsible businesses in our neighborhood, but balance economic revitalization against the needs of families to be happy and secure in their homes. I will continue to encourage businesses to participate in cleanups and neighborhood beautification, and demand that they do not infringe on the health and safety of nearby residents. There has been some incredible economic development in the past 3 decades but we still have plenty work to do. Won't you join the movement to continue to propel us forward?
SAFETY is the most important issue in our neighborhood: in our streets and in our homes. The pandemic has shown us the value of safe streets as we encourage walking and cycling more than ever. Online ordering and deliveries have resulted in increased petty crimes like package theft. Car thefts are on the rise too. We will continue to work with MPD to address all criminal activity in 6A01. Together we have to do our part. We must return to a kind and caring neighborhood where we look out for each other.
I can't win this race without your help. Walk the neighborhood with me. Spread the word. Post a yard sign. Send me an email and I will drop a sign off (contactless) to your home or business. These are all ways to helping us achieve our goals together. Most of all, VOTE!
